Many angling historians have stated over the years, that Izaak Walton took most of the basis for his famous "The Compleat Angler" from another book. Although I've never given an opinion one way or the other, I thought it important that others be able to judge for themselves.
Therefore, after three years of searching for this work, and many hours at the scanner, I am offering the Arte of Angling, from the year 1577, for your reading enjoyment. This is the work from which Izaak has been accused of borrowing his ideas.
The actual size the text area averages about 3 x 5 inches. This made the document somewhat difficult for people to read. Therefore, when scanning the pages, they have been enlarged for readability.
